Our Story
Our business was founded in 1985 by Thomas Pacconi, a passionate collector and admirer of Christmas traditions. As a child, Thomas looked forward to decorating the tree each year using treasured family ornaments passed down through generations. He was fascinated by the stories behind each unique decoration.
In the early 1980s, Thomas began collecting vintage Christmas ornaments. He loved seeking out rare finds at flea markets and antique shops. Over time, his collection grew to over 10,000 ornaments!
Friends and family encouraged Thomas to start creating his own Christmas decor. They loved his eye for finding one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.
So in 1985, Thomas Pacconi’s Original Wood Carvings was born. Thomas hand-carved and painted collectible Christmas tree ornaments. His attention to detail and quality craftsmanship earned rave reviews.
The company quickly expanded into blown glass ornaments, nutcrackers, and other holiday decor. With his wife Diane’s help, Thomas developed a successful mail-order catalog business.

- Fabric – Christmas figurines feature lush velvet, brocade, faux fur and other fine fabrics. Materials are carefully selected based on period-accuracy.
- Resin – Our exclusive designer resin provides intricate detail and durability. Made without plasticizers, our resin won’t yellow over time.
- Glitter – Dazzling accents are achieved with cosmetic-grade glitter particles with maximum reflectivity. These glitters are non-tarnishing and lead-free.
Craftsmanship
- Hand-blown – Our glass artisans use traditional techniques to shape molten glass into fine Christmas ornaments and decor. Each piece is individually worked.
- Hand-carved – We use time-honored wood carving methods for nutcrackers, Santas, and other decorations. Every knife stroke adds character.
- Hand-cast – Our resin casters make molds from original sculptures then carefully cast each piece by hand, preserving every fine detail.
- Hand-painted – Every piece receives multiple layers of paint and lacquer, lending vibrancy and dimension. Skilled artisans use fine brushes to create scenes and character faces.
- Hand-assembled – Craftspeople meticulously assemble figurines, attaching fabric, fur, resin elements, and decorative touches to bring designs to life.
